How we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you enquire or order.

Baked by Franny is a sole trader business operated by Frances Ewurasi Hutchful, based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK. For the purposes of data protection law, we are the "controller" of the personal data described in this policy.

When you submit an enquiry or order request, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if given), event date and occasion, guest count, delivery address (for delivery orders), and any details you write about what you're looking for.
If you upload inspiration images or a gift video, we collect that file. Inspiration photos are used only to inform your cake's design; gift videos are used only as you've directed.
When you pay online, your card details are entered directly into Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number, only confirmation that payment was made and basic order metadata.
We don't currently use analytics, tracking cookies, or advertising pixels on this website. If that changes in future, we'll update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.

We don't use your data for automated decision-making, and we don't sell it to anyone.
We keep order and enquiry records for as long as we need them to fulfil your order and handle any follow-up, and after that for as long as UK tax law requires us to keep financial records (currently up to 6 years). We also keep inspiration photos and gift videos on file after your order is complete, as design reference and portfolio material for future work, unless you ask us to delete them (see "Your rights" below).
If you request an order, we generate a PDF summary of it that you can download and that's attached to your confirmation email. We keep that PDF file for 12 months, then delete it automatically. Your order record itself is kept for the longer periods described above.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we'd appreciate the chance to sort it out directly first.
Our cakes are often made for children's occasions, but the person placing the order and giving us their details must be 18 or over.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
